Meet Our Doctors!

Dr. Sheena Hunt

Dr. Sheena Hunt is a West Virginia native from Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science from Marshall University and her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012. She practiced for a year in Huntsville, Alabama before returning to Elkins.

Dr. Hunt is a member of the American Optometric Physicians, a member of the Elkins Rotary Club, and is also very involved in her church in Elkins.

In her free time, Dr. Hunt enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her husband, and children. She is thrilled to be back in her home state providing the highest level of care to the wonderful people of West Virginia.

In her training, Dr. Hunt received many well-rounded experiences including training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where she gained valuable experience with glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and various other ocular diseases.

She learned from some of the nation’s leading neuro-ophthalmologists, anterior segment specialists, ocular oncologists, glaucoma specialists, and retinal specialists. She also gained valuable experience in pediatric optometry and the treatment of amblyopia and other visual disorders affecting children at UAB Eye Care Pediatric and Vision Therapy Clinics.

Dr. Andrew Hunt

Dr. Andrew Hunt is a native of North Carolina and attended Appalachian State University for his undergraduate education. He later earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2014. Throughout his education, Dr. Hunt was privileged to work with excellent mentors and receive specialized training in ocular disease, pediatrics, vision therapy, low vision rehabilitation, and refractive and cataract surgery co-management.

Dr. Hunt is a member of the American Optometric Association and is the Area 5 Chair for the West Virginia Association of Optometric Physicians. He is also heavily involved at his church in Elkins. In his free time, Dr. Hunt enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and spending time with his wife, and children. He looks forward to providing your family with comprehensive vision care.

Dr. Hunt especially enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses to treat keratoconus and other corneal disorders. These lenses are often able to restore functional and clear vision that would not be possible with glasses or other types of vision correction.
